Porsche is still a legend in the world of German sports car producers. The company remained consistent for more than a century producing some of the world’s most captivating and high-performance machines. It is quite challenging naming any model as the favorite but we have compiled a list of some of the best models ever made.

Most of the cars are products of recent years while some are no longer in the production line, but all of them share the same characteristics and that is they are faster than you can ever imagine.

  1. Porsche 918 Spyder

If you are familiar with the “hybrid hypercar” then you already know the 918 Spyder which is the same. The term came when the sports car debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010.

Only a few vehicles could measure up to the performance of the 918 Spyder. It comes with a 4.6 liter V8 which works in combination with two electric motors to deliver an 887 horsepower and 944 pound-feet of torque. In fact, this all-wheel-drive sports car will produce 60mph in 2.5 seconds.

Moving away from the 918 Spyder, let’s go back to when it all really started. Porsche was established in 1931 but waited until 1948 before releasing is the first vehicle which happens to be the 356.

The 356 featured a unique rear engine design placed in a lightweight package. The two doors this vehicle had served as the template for the Porsche brand.

Think of one of the most prolific race car producers and Porsche comes to mind. They are one of the known race car makers in history and the Porsche 917 is one of the reasons for this.

This endurance machine gave Porsche wins at Monza, Daytona, Brands Hatch, and Spa. The 917 features a super lightweight spaceframe chassis and was the first ever 12-cylinder engine built by the company. The vehicle was formally produced 520 hp and turbocharged for car racing purpose to over 1,000 hp.

The 959 started its life as a Group B rally vehicle made to conquer at the Paris-Dakar rally. The 959 was a sports car the eyes could not resist and was one of the progressive sports cars in the 1980’s.

It came with quality magnesium wheels combined with run-flat tires and 450-hp. The 959 was also one of the most expensive and technologically advanced cars during its time.
